To apply for a Foundation grant, please send your completed proposal by US mail to:

Our review process begins with the submission deadline of August 1st, with a goal of notifying all applicants of our decisions via US Mail in the November-December time frame. 

Please Note:  We are now requiring a 6-month progress report on the funded project by June of the following year, which can be found under the "Documents" tab. 


The following information may be used as a guide for what to include in your proposal.

 

1. In-N-Out Burger Foundation Grant Proposal Information Sheet (this can be found under the "Documents" tab)


2. Cover Letter – Must be on you organization’s official stationary and should include the following:

  • A brief description of your organization
  • The proposed program or project
  • The amount that you are requesting
  • Two contact names, title, address, email address, and telephone number

3. Background Information

  • History and purpose of the organization
  • Primary population served by the organization

4. Program description

  • Detailed description of the proposed project or program including the goals and objectives.
  • The amount requested along with an explanation of how the funds will be used.
  • Evaluation plan

5. Personnel information

  • A brief introduction to the staff who will implement and work with the program
  • Officers and Directors.

6. Financial & Legal Information

  • A copy of your organization's IRS determination letter – 501(c)3 status
  • Detailed program budget
  • A copy of your current year Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Organization's financial statement for the prior fiscal year (ex: if the year is 2008, then we would require financial information from the year 2007)
    • Audited Financials are required if your budget is over $2,000,000.
    • A Tax Form 990 is acceptable if your budget does not exceed $2,000,000.
    • If your agency has both, please submit both
